Long days are back, I’m anxious to get outside and I need to re-up my physical activity. To get back into it, I registered for some upcoming races!
First up, the Shamrock Shuffle 5k.
More exciting and an exciting new challenge: the 2015 Bike for Women! This is a 9 mile bike race, open to women of all availabilities. I’m pretty psyched for my first bike race. I’m hopeful I enjoy it – looking forward to setting a benchmark for future bike races!
And looking way ahead, the Big Wild Life half marathon in August. Half/Halves are my favorite distance and I hear this course is really easy (read: flat). This is the only long run I’m registered for this year, looking forward to it!
In the spirit of getting after it, I ran 16 miles with my friend Alli last weekend. She’s training for a marathon in a month or two and I needed a serious sufferfest (physically getting worked over). It was tough, but I did it and had a blast! Thanks Alli, for inviting me, encouraging me and setting a great pace.
